Dot-matrix printing: print your invoices on an impact printer

At the counter, an invoice doesn’t come out of a laser printer on A4: it comes out of a dot-matrix impact printer (Epson LX-350, LQ-590…), on continuous multi-part paper that produces the original and its carbon copies in a single pass. It’s fast, rugged and cheap to run — the standard expected in Central African retail.

SynkriaOps prints directly on these printers. No PDF to open, no dialog box: you click Print in the app, and the invoice comes out of the tray, aligned with your paper, in an instant.

Dot-matrix printing relies on a small program — the SynkriaOps print agent — installed on the PC connected to the printer (usually the point-of-sale machine).

The principle is simple and safe:

  1. You click Print on an invoice in SynkriaOps.
  2. The app prepares the document in the native format of dot-matrix printers.
  3. The agent installed on the PC picks up the job and sends it straight to the printer.
  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC connected to the dot-matrix printer (USB or network).
  • The printer installed in Windows (it appears under “Printers & scanners”).
  • An internet connection on that PC.
  • Administrator rights on that PC, for the duration of the install (one time only).
  • A SynkriaOps account with a dot-matrix invoice template enabled (“Sale of goods” profile).

Three steps, one time, about fifteen minutes in total:
