Create a stockable product

A stockable product is a good whose quantity and value SynkriaOps tracks. This is the product type that triggers stock movements on every purchase, sale or adjustment — unlike a service, a consumable or a package.

TypeStock tracking?Example
Stockable goodYesBag of cement, bottle, spare part
ConsumableNoOffice supplies not resold
ServiceNoLabour, professional service
PackageNoSubscription, bundle
  1. Open the form

Main menu → Stock (or Products) → New product.

  2. Choose the type

Select Stockable good. The stock sections appear.

  3. Fill in the identity

    FieldRequiredDescription
    NameRequiredThe product’s commercial name
SKU / referenceRecommendedUnique reference in your company file
EAN-13 barcodeOptionalValidated automatically; used for mobile scanning
Unit of measureRecommendedUnit, kg, litre, box…
Category / groupOptionalTo group and filter your products
  4. Set prices and VAT

Enter the purchase price, the sales price excl. VAT in XAF and the applicable VAT rate (by default, your regime’s — 19.25% in Cameroon).

  5. Check the SYSCOHADA accounts

    SynkriaOps suggests default accounts:

    • a product account (class 7) for sales — for example 701;
    • a stock account (class 3) — for example 311.

Adjust them if your chart of accounts requires it.

  6. Save

Click Save. The product is created with an initial quantity of zero. To stock it up, see Movements & valuation or go through a supplier invoice.

For a large catalogue, two faster options:

  • CSV import — prepare a file from the downloadable template, then import (preview then batch validation). See Import an invoice via OCR for the assisted-import logic.
  • Mass catalogue scan (mobile) — scan a list of items to create them in a batch. See Inventory campaigns & scanning.
